ISNet "Independent Schools Network” - Technology Provider of Choice for Australian Independent Schools

In the mid-1990s Somerville made a conscious decision to focus on the independent education sector. Time and dedicated specialist resources were committed to the provision of technology products and services specific to the needs of education. Initially our focus was on providing high-quality, business-grade internet services. Our first internet provision customer was The Kings School. From this our NetFilter business was formed to provision traffic minimisation strategies, URL filtering and a range of other managed services to independent schools. As technology evolved we formed strategic partnerships with Australia’s Academic and Research Network (AARNet), then Independent Schools Victoria (ISV), taking technical control of the network infrastructure established by ISV known as the VICTOR network. This prompted us to aggregate all our existing NetFilter clients and the former VICTOR network customers into ISNet the “Independent Schools Network”. Today ISNet provides exactly the same range of technically elegant IT solutions and managed services as Somerville, with the added benefit of 20 years of expertise tailoring products and services to suit the requirements of Independent Schools in Australia.
