Radiation Control Coating

There is usually a variety of infrastructure on the roof and its performance can be affected by exposure to radiant energy.

We can now protect this infrastructure by applying a radiation control coating to the exposed surfaces.

This coating reduces running costs by reducing the impact of solar radiation and comes with a 10 year guarantee.

This coating can be applied to:

  • Chillers
  • Air conditioning intake points
  • Metal roofs. Reducing the effect of solar radiation can reduce the internal temperature within the building by up to 10 degrees celcius

Solar Power

The roof space can also be used to generate solar power. This is a popular option in Australia however in the Sydney area conventional solar panels are usually limited to generating power for about 4.5 to 5.5 hours per sunny day. In most instances this is an acceptable outcome, however for more intensive applications Somerville can install a solution that will generate power over a much longer period of time.

When installed in conjunction with the radiation control coating the volume of solar power generated can be increased even further.
